Ambassador Terry Branstad, National Chairman

Terry Branstad is the former U.S. Ambassador to China (2017-2020), and the longest serving governor in the history of the United States (1983-1999/2011-2017). In addition to his role as president of Des Moines University Medical School, his public service includes election to the office of Lt. Governor and three-terms in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Ambassador Branstad had the following comment regarding his appointment as National Chairman of The Corporate Citizenship Project:

“I am proud to act on behalf of American businesses and investors by advocating for reforming how states invest public funds. Proxy advisors, asset managers, and federal agencies have unilaterally imposed biased ESG standards on the investment of public assets. This politically motivated agenda has added unnecessary burdens to American businesses and consumers and harmed shareholder value. The Corporate Citizenship project opposes these politically motivated investments and urges state financial officers to make investment decisions based only on returns.”
